Second: I have already started writing Book 5 in the series. I started yesterday and wrote 5000 words (which is a lot more than I usually write in one day). I have a feeling Book 5 might end up being the longest one in the series, so far. If I can keep up this pace, I should have it out by the first week in April, or sooner.

Third: Thank you all for your support. I don’t know if the person reading this is a long-time fan or a brand-new one. It doesn’t matter. You are amazing, and I truly appreciate you.

Fourth: I have to go to the dentist today. :| Fortunately, I’ve always had really healthy teeth, so my visits are typically very short. Be sure to brush and floss!

Fifth: Other than Minecraft, are you playing any video games lately? I recently started playing SUPER MARIO ODYSSEY on my son’s old Switch. It’s pretty fun. It took a while to get used to throwing the hat at enemies, but now that I’ve figured out how to do that effectively, I’m having fun. Before that, I played KIRBY AND THE FORGOTTEN LANDS. I wasn’t sure I’d like the 3D gameplay for Kirby, but it was a really fun game. I beat the main game, but haven’t played any of the extra content you unlock after you beat the main story. If you are a Kirby fan, I recommend playing it.

I had hoped to publish this book in late December, but … well, I didn’t. Sorry. I don’t normally make any “New Year’s resolutions,” but I made one this year: publish at least one book per month. I will do my best to stick to it.

As many of you know, I live in near San Diego. This makes it easy for me to get to Comic Con. I am attending this year, and thought I’d share some pictures with you. (And, unfortunately, this means I won’t be writing at all for a few days. However, the first draft of Broken Respawn is nearly done, so you won’t have to wait much longer.)

I want to show you some pictures of the general area, and then some Minecraft-themed pictures.

Here is a picture of the buildings outside the convention center. They are wrapped with ads for various movies, video games, anime, and television shows.

And here is a picture from inside the Convention Center. It doesn’t look crowded, but believe me, the crowds at this event are enormous. It’s actually a bit exhausting to be in crowds like this. :(

And now for the Minecraft pictures! LEGO and Minecraft had a small booth where they were promoting Minecraft-themed LEGO sets. Below you can see pictures of Steve and a Creeper made entirely of LEGO. These creations were about 3 feet or 1 meter tall. Each was made with over 13,000 LEGO bricks!

Of course, nothing would be complete with out the new LEGO chicken jockey:

Finally, they were giving away a mini-poster, about the size of a comic book. I grabbed one:

So, that’s all for now. Once Comic Con is over on July 27th, I’ll finish Broken Respawn as quickly as I can. I promise.

I wanted to give you a quick update about my progress on Broken Respawn. I am about 50% done with the first draft. My hope is to finish the first draft late next week, with a publication goal of the final week of July.

(In case you don’t know, Broken Respawn is the first book of a new series starring Jimmy Slade from the Diary of a Surfer Villager series.)

In other news, did you see that Mojang is going to put the copper golem into the game soon?! It looks pretty cool. And, it can be used as a servant around your base to keep all your loot organized. We also get copper weapons, which is cool, but not as cool as the copper golem. Anyway, if you haven’t watched the official Mojang video about the new additions to the game, you can check it out below:
